Cadillac ATS Goes To College

Where is Cadillac ATS going before its debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2012?

Plans to reveal ATS at Detroit's College for Creative Studies on January 8th were recently announced. That's one day prior to 2012's North American International Auto Show.

Auto makers love unveiling cars in unique locations. It doesn't hurt that General Motors donated millions to the school's renovation in 2009. "Sometimes it can be a little bit refreshing to step outside of the box. We can also do a few things there that we can't do as part of a traditional exhibit," according to Cadillac spokesperson David Caldwell.1

ATS will make its way over to Motor Werks Cadillac of Barrington in Barrington, IL by the summer of 2012. The vehicle will be produced at GM's Lansing Grand River assembly plant, and employ 600 new workers for ATS production alone.
